In 2006 there were 1.1 million cosmetic surgical procedures performed in the U.S.  The top 4 procedures requested by men were:

• Nose reshaping.
• Eyelid surgery.
• Liposuction.
• Hair Transplantation.

 

• There has been an 8% increase in male cosmetic surgery. 
• 56% of cosmetic surgery patients were "Baby Boomers", this has been the fastest growing segment in plastic surgery. 
• Men who seek plastic surgery tend to be successful and financially secure, they just see themselves as "out of balance". 
•  Men are concerned about losing their hair, women are not as concerned, but when hair loss effects a man's confidence it can effect how men project themselves towards women. 
•  5 out of 6 consumers believe that personal appearance  is key to professional success. 
•  Most consumers, 51% choose to keep their  procedures confidential, only revealing to their friends and colleagues if asked directly. 
•  12% of men believe that they will have cosmetic surgery at some point in their lives.
• The Southeast region of the U.S. had the 2nd highest # of cosmetic procedures performed.
• 40% of the patients had more than 1 type of procedure.
• 41% of patients have had multiple procedures at the same time "makeover". 

Surgery results should be natural and compliment an individuals facial characteristics.  The hairline should be age appropriate and contain single hairs that transition into zones of 2,3, and 4 haired follicular units.  In 2007 transplanted hairlines look natural and the "plug" look of 20 years ago is not common if follicular units are used.
