Hair Transplantation is fairly straight forward, there are no special techniques. There are many ways to do the procedure, but the "Gold" standard is as follows.
1. The hair is removed from the donor area in a single elliptical strip by the surgeon.
2. The donor area is sutured using a double layer technique.
3. The hair is dissected into 1, 2, and 3 haired grafts called Follicular Units by surgical technicians using new transdermal lighting, virtually eliminating hair loss due to transection.
4. Recipient sites are made with custom blades ranging in size from 0.75mm to 1.3mm. The sites are made in either a coronal or sagital orientation by the surgeon. Some clinics also utilize a "stick and place" technique to maximise density.
Following your procedure you will be given a very simple yet extremely effective post-op program to follow, which will allow you to heal faster, and go back to work quicker.
